It’s a rare gift to be able to enjoy dishes from the No. 1 chef in the world…typically requiring a lengthy trek to a remote location. Now, culinary enthusiasts can enjoy the ultimate dream: Eating just feet from the 2018 and 2019 winners of the elite “World’s 50 Best” restaurant competition.
GR8 Group — the leading international agency for distinctive, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and events — is producing the third edition of its signature Once Upon a Kitchen dinner, taking place Dec. 1 at the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center in Miami Beach. The headliners will include Mauro Colagreco, whose restaurant, Mirazur, in Menton, France, earned the No. 1 spot on the 2019 “World’s 50 Best” list.
He’ll be joined by last year’s champion, Massimo Bottura, whose restaurant, Osteria Francescana, in Modena, Italy, topped the rankings in 2018 after previously being named No. 1 in 2016. Bottura now inducted in the Best of the Best section of the “World’s 50 Best” and was also named by TIME magazine as one of the most influential people of 2019.
Furthering the sheer excitement that continues to build around Once Upon a Kitchen is the fact that Colagreco and Bottura will be collaborating with
two more culinary heavyweights: Alex Atala — whose restaurant, D.O.M., in São Paulo, Brazil, was rated the fourth-best in the world in 2012 and
currently holds the title of “Acqua Panna Best Restaurant in South America”– and Antonio Bachour, named the best pastry chef in the world at “The
Best Chef Awards 2018.”
Guests will be treated to a multi-course wine paired dinner featuring signature dishes from these four chefs and their widely celebrated
restaurants, some of which have been documented on shows like Netflix’s “Chef’s Table.”
The star-studded event, which will be orchestrated by Cirque of Life, with the same director that helped Cirque du Soleil to narrate the deep union between food and life at last World Expo in Milan, will also be presided over by renowned winemaker Roberto Cipresso, who was tapped to create a special Cuvee for Pope John Paul II during the 2000 Jubilee, as well as epicurean insiders, for an absolutely unforgettable evening.
Guests will enjoy also a welcome cocktail experience created by Alex Ott, a world renown Master Mixologist.
Once Upon a Kitchen has also been endorsed by Forbes Travel Guide — the only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas — and the Fine Dining Chapter of YPO, the premier global leadership organization. In addition to having W South Beach as its 2019 hotel partner, and sponsors including Lavazza and Inedit Damm, the event’s charitable partner is Food for Soul, a not-for-profit cultural organization created by Massimo Bottura and his wife, Lara Gilmore.
