Andreas Caminada
The maestro of Swiss cuisine
Andrea’s Caminada’s culinary career began in Switzerland, where he developed a deep appreciation for local ingredients and traditional Swiss cuisine. His early experiences in various kitchens across the country allowed him to refine his skills and develop a distinct culinary style. This foundation was instrumental in his subsequent achievements. In 2003, at the age of 26, Caminada opened Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau, Switzerland.. Under Caminada’s leadership, Schloss Schauenstein earned three Michelin stars, placing it among the world’s elite dining establishments.
Following the success of Schloss Schauenstein, Caminada introduced IGNIV, a series of restaurants that offer a sharing-concept dining experience. The name “igniv” means “nest” in Rhaeto-Romanic, reflecting the warm and communal atmosphere of these establishments.
With locations in Bad Ragaz, St. Moritz, Zurich, and Bangkok, IGNIV has brought Caminada’s culinary vision to a broader audience, each receiving its own Michelin stars.
IGNIV’s menu features a selection of small plates designed to be shared, fostering a convivial dining experience. This concept highlights Caminada’s versatility as a chef and his ability to adapt his culinary style to different settings while maintaining high standards of quality and creativity. In addition to his work as a chef, Andreas Caminada is a mentor, author, and advocate for sustainable cooking practices.
